A Carrd alternative that writes the page for you
Let us be fair to Carrd first, because most comparison pages are not. Carrd is $19 a year for Pro Standard. It is not a $25-a-month chat-to-app tool wearing a disguise. It is a small, fast, well-made one-page builder run by one person, and the free tier gives you three sites. If price is the only thing you care about, stop reading and go use Carrd.
The part Carrd leaves to you
Open Carrd and you get an empty rectangle and a set of controls. Every decision is still yours: the headline, the order of the sections, what goes above the fold, what the button says, whether to explain the problem before the product.
That is fine if you were stuck on layout. Most makers are not stuck on layout. They are stuck on the sentence that describes what they built, and a blank canvas does not help with a blank page. An afternoon later the tab is still open and the launch has not happened.
Both tools have the same real scope: one page. Neither is a website builder, and that is a feature. The difference is who writes it.

So the money is close, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. The difference is the shape: Carrd renews every year for as long as you want the page up, and Fused Rover is paid once. Over three years that is $57 against $29, and over ten it is $190 against $29.
The files
Carrd can hand over your code, but only on Pro Plus at $49 a year — the docs describe downloading “the unminified HTML, CSS, JS, and images for any sites you build”. On the cheaper tiers the page lives inside Carrd.

Choosing between them, honestly
Use Carrd if you enjoy laying out a page, already know what your headline is, and want the cheapest possible recurring bill. It is the better tool for people who want to design.
Use Fused Rover if you finished the thing on Saturday, you cannot face writing about your own project, and you want a page you own outright by tonight. You write one paragraph, press Run, and read the finished draft before you pay anything.
